SO, WHAT IS EUPHONIA?

euphonia is a Canadian avant-garde chamber orchestra comprised of 10 Canadian virtuosi, premiering brand new works with each performance. Composer-In-Residence Jordan O’Connor’s recent compositions for the group include collaborations with a variety of artists including mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah and rapper Bobby MacIntosh. Notable recent projects; The Decision (about the acquittal of radio personality Jian Ghomeshi), the Beck Songbook, Reflections on Love and Sex (erotic fiction set to music), Angels in the Water (The Horn Concerto), The Trombone Concerto and The Violin Concerto.

Previous residencies include a monthly series at Lula Lounge (a Cuban club in Toronto’s west end) and children’s shows at Roncesvalles United Church.

Currently, you can catch us onstage at Array Space in downtown Toronto, where we premiere our new works and love performing for our loyal and diehard audience! We also offer a series of free shows in various YWCA locations and shelters around the GTA. We are currently working on an initiative to bring live music to immigrant detention facilities in Ontario.
